- Introduction to Florence
This tour is suggested to those who wish to see all the most important sights, usually, those who are visiting Florence for the first time. It consists of a fascinating walk through the historical center of the city. The tour includes the Franciscan church of Santa Croce, known as the "Pantheon of the Italian Glories" owing to the fact that many illustrious Italians, such as Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Rossini and Machiavelli, are buried here. The visit also includes the religious center (the Baptistry, the Duomo and Giotto's Bell-tower), as well as the political center (Piazza della Signoria) of the city where you'll be able to see the replica of the David by Michelangelo. - Florence and Accademia
One of the world's most visited museums. More than one million visitors a year! Famous for Michelangelo's David and the Prisoners/slaves, as well as the Saint Matthew and the beautiful Barberini Piett. The tour continues with a walk towards the Duomo and the church of Santa Croce, where it is possible to admire the magnificent tomb of Michelangelo.
- Florence and Uffizi Gallery
The most visited museum in Florence, and one of the most important painting collections in the world, which allows one to understand the evolution of Italian painting thanks to works by Giotto, Piero della Francesca, Filippo Lippi, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian. The tour continues with a walk towards the Duomo and the church of Santa Croce. - Medieval Florence
This is a very interesting tour that will touch all the medieval highlights of the city. Starting with the religious area of Santa Maria del Fiore we will then walk in the medieval side streets to see the typical buildings of the time: the tower houses. We will pass by Dante's house and the Bargello museum and Orsanmichele, a church, once used as a corn market, with external niches holding statues which depict the symbols of the mediaeval Florentine guilds. The tour will finish in the area of Santa Croce, the largest Franciscan basilica of Italy. - Duomo complex
This itinerary focuses on Santa Maria del Fiore, Florence cathedral. We start with the Baptistery, an 11th century structure that the Florentines believed was originally a Roman temple. Then we will enter in the cathedral and go towards Giotto's belltower and Brunelleschi's dome. Finally, we will go to the museum of the Duomo, where we will find a wealth of artworks removed from the Duomo and surrounding buildings, including Ghiberti's bronze doors of the Baptistery and Donatello's figures for the facade of the cathedral. We will see some of the most important ones, such as Michelangelo's late-career "Pieta" and Donatello's statue of Mary Magdalene. If you've been to Florence already and this time you wish to visit something different then I would suggest to you to visit with me: - The convent of San Marco and the beautiful works by Beato Angelico
The Museum offers visitors an example of a perfectly preserved 15th century convent, based on the rational and harmonious plan inspired by Bruschelleschi's innovations. On the other hand, the complex also contains the works of Fra' Angelico, a Dominican monk who closely collaborated with Michelozzo and his pupils, the refectory, the cloister and the monks' cells on the first floor.
- Santa Maria Novella Church
Entrances to museums or churches are NOT included in the above listed fees.
I would like to remind you to be properly dressed when visiting churches. In particular, remember to cover your shoulders and to avoid wearing shorts. Thank you.
